Using Multi-Method Queries in Finite Element Analysis

چکیده
The object-oriented model is often motivated by its support for new emerging application areas such as finite element analysis (FEA), computer-aided design or office automation systems. However, our experience when building such a system (FEA) using an object-relational database management system is that an object-oriented model extended with multi-methods is needed. Our application domain also needs support for multi-methods where methods may be called with any configuration of bound or unbound arguments, multi-directional queries. In this paper we show by using excerpts from an FEA application the benefits of multi-directional multi-methods and we also show how to process queries with multi-directional multi-methods and how to make these optimizable in presence of late binding. This project was supported by NUTEK (The Swedish National Board for Industrial and Technical Development), TFR (Swedish Research Council for Engineering Science) and CENIIT (The Center for Industrial Information Technology).

A Multi-Physics Simulation Model Based on Finite Element Method for the Multi-Layer Switched Reluctance Motor
Using ANSYS finite element (FE) package, a multi-physics simulation model based on finite element method (FEM) is introduced for the multi-layer switched reluctance motor (SRM) in the present paper. The simulation model is created totally in ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) as a parametric model usable for various conventional types of this motor and it is included electromagnetic, therm...

Crack identification is a very important issue in mechanical systems, because it is a damage that if develops may cause catastrophic failure. In the first part of this research, modal analysis of a multi-cracked variable cross-section beam is done using finite element method. Then, the obtained results are validated usingthe results of experimental modal analysis tests. In the next part, a nove...
متن کاملOptimal Design of Sandwich Panels Using Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm and Finite Element Method
Low weight and high load capacity are remarkable advantages of sandwich panels with corrugated core, which make them more considerable by engineering structure designers. It’s important to consider the limitations such as yielding and buckling as design constraints for optimal design of these panels. In this paper, multi-objective optimization of sandwich panels with corrugated core is carried ...

Spacious experimental and numerical investigation has been conducted by researchers to increase the ductility and energy dissipation of concentrically braced frames. One of the most widely used strategies for increasing ductility and energy dissiption, is the use of energy-absorbing systems. In this regard, the cyclic behavior of a chevron bracing frame system equipped with multi-pipe dampers (...
متن کاملShear-Flexural Interaction in Analysis of Reduced Web Section Beams using VM Link Element
Reduced web section beams in shear-yielding moment-resistant steel frames are used for energy dissipating of earthquakes. The finite element analysis indicates that failure mode of these beams are governed by the combination of shear force and flexural moment. Therefore the analysis of frames with reduced web section beams needs consideration of shear-flexural interaction in those sections. In ...
